Carly Fisher is the Owner and Head Trainer at Clarion Farm, Inc. She has been riding since childhood and riding professionally for the last 18 years. Growing up in the Midwest she won many year-end championships in the Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation in the Wisconsin Hunter Jumper Association. She also did a lot of catch riding and assisted her trainers in training and selling ponies and horses from the racetrack often taking them from their first ride through their first shows. After deciding to pursue a career in the horse industry she ventured out of the Midwest and worked for the James Lala Show Stable in Wellington, FL, Windbourne Farm and Foxridge Farm in Oregon and Cedar Farm and Stepping Out Farm in Massachusetts. In these positions she has had the experience of competing and training clients at some of the largest shows in the country including the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, and The Indio Desert Circuit (now HITS Thermal) in California. In 2006 she purchased Clarion Farm in Franklin MA where she continues to help her students reach all their riding related goals. She continues to show herself and coach students in the Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation and attend shows throughout the Northeast. She also coaches the Clarion Farm IEA Team and the Wheaton College Equestrian Team who have been successful with multiple Regional, Zone, and National Qualifiers including an IEA National Champion. Her team members have been awarded the Sportsmanship Award at both Regional Finals and Zone Finals and her horses have been named Best Horse at IEA Regional and Zone Finals three times. While primarily a H/J rider, Carly appreciates many other disciplines and cross trains regularly with dressage trainers. She regularly clinics with Greg Best in the jumpers and Vera Kessels-Barisone in Dressage. She is always working at bettering herself as both a rider, teacher, and horseman and works to pass it on to her students. Carly has the ability to adapt her riding and training methods to many different types of horses and believes that good basics and flatwork are the cornerstone to success over fences and strives to help each horse reach their full potential. She is also very adept at reading her student’s needs and giving them the support and guidance they need to meet their goals. Carly also serves as a IEA Region President and is a founding member of the Zone 1 IEA Education Committee. She has been stewarding IEA shows since 2007 and is in the process of becoming a USEF licensed Steward.
